**Job Function Overview - Sandblaster/General Labourer**

As a Sandblaster/General Labourer, you will be responsible for ensuring dump boxes, trailers, parts etc. are sandblasted correctly, in preparation for paint. The Sandblaster must have the ability to operate sandblasting equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Operate Sandblasting equipment to remove paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt from metal material in preparation for painting;
- Regulate pressure and composition of sandblasting equipment;
- Mask specific areas of object to protect from abrading action;
- Examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications;
- Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs;
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day;
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production;
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency.
- Operate forklifts as required
- Operate overhead cranes up to 5 tons
- Keep work place organized
- Perform other duties, as required

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to be certified in forklift and crane operations
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time;
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
