Our Dartmouth branch features two unique facilities that provide diverse opportunities for our team. Staff may be primarily based at one location but need to have the flexibility to work at either, depending on operational needs. This setup allows for collaboration across sites and ensures a dynamic and engaging work environment.
**Standard Working Hours**: Mon - Fri | 7:30 pm - 4:30 pm | 42.5 hours per week
**Rotational Saturday Shift**:8:00am - 12:00pm
We’re looking for a skilled Truck and Transport Technician to join our fast-paced service team. If you have a passion for diesel engines, enjoy problem-solving, and take pride in delivering quality work, this is the perfect role for you. In this position, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain Peterbilt trucks and other transport vehicles, ensuring that our clients’ vehicles are ready to tackle the road with confidence.
**What You’ll Do**:
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
**What You Need**:
- A minimum of two to four (2-4) years of experience working as a Truck and Transport Technician.
- Truck and Transport License preferred; however, a combination of education & experience will be considered.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract.
**_Additional Strengths:_**
- Post Secondary education as a Truck & Transport Service Technician is considered an asset.
- Broad knowledge of heavy-duty truck technologies.
- Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic ability to use computer systems and software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Ability to learn new technology and service procedures/ specifications.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
