**Pharmacy Lab Assistant**

**Job Title**:Pharmacy Assistant

**Pharmacy**:Compounding lab
**Reports to**:Pharmacy Manager
**Positions**: Full Time and part-time
**Salary**:Hourly range $19.50 - 23 per hour, commensurate with experience

As an integral member of the Pharmacy lab team, the Lab assistant will strive to deliver quality patient care, excellent customer service and enhance patient safety by ensuring the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of pharmaceutical product preparation.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Work with fellow lab staff in the preparation of compounded products including creams, gels, suspensions, capsules, lozenges, suppositories etc.
- Provide general maintenance, cleaning and care of all laboratory equipment
- Review all incoming orders and prepare in a timely manner
- Maintain inventory
- Pack and ship orders to customers
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Pharmaceutical compounding experience and/or experience working in a lab environment
- Minimum one year pharmacy experience preferred
- A level of experience, training and education equivalent to a Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or microbiology an asset
- Must be computer savvy and able to work with various pharmacy software
- Effective written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to complete work with minimum supervision while working collaboratively with a team.
