Electrical Foreperson

**Description/Duties**
Mustang Contracting is an established and growing Commercial Construction Electrical Contractor based out of Surrey, BC, with active projects throughout the Lower Mainland. We are looking to expand our team with a motivated, hard-working individual looking for secure, year-round work to develop their leadership skills as a foreperson.
The Electrical Foreperson plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our projects. They are responsible for leading a team of skilled workers and ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget and schedule. The expertise of the Foreperson will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety on site. The Foreperson is responsible for the Health and Safety of workers assigned to them, and to the safeness of the assigned work area. They shall ensure workers are trained and knowledgeable in safe work procedures. The foreperson shall diligently direct workers to comply with applicable safety rules, regulations and practices.
**Compensation**:$45/hour
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Responsible for managing electrical projects and ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Supervise a team of electricians and apprentices, coordinate with other contractors, and ensure that work is performed according to industry standards.
- Producing schedules and monitor attendance of journeypersons and apprentices.
- Allocating general and daily responsibilities to journeypersons and apprentices.
- Ensure that all electrical systems are properly tested and inspected and that all safety regulations are followed.
- Responsible for maintaining records, coordinating with the Project Manager to order supplies, and troubleshooting any electrical issues.
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
- Hands on tools as necessary or by direction of the project manager and/or service manager.
- Communicating with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
- Collaborating with project manager, construction workers and other crew members.
- Ensure a high quality, profitable installation while maintaining high worker morale and customer satisfaction.
- Thoroughly pre-plan and coordinate all aspects of the job with the project manager.
- Maintain an efficient and secure tool and material handling system.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and ensure coaching and training opportunities are available and utilized.
- Maintain an accurate administration system and daily log.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Certificate of Qualification.
- Practical experience working with electrical systems and equipment.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of the work processes, techniques, and safety practices involved.
- Expected to be technically capable in all aspects of the electrical trade, including familiarity with most types of building construction.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials used in trade.
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation.
- Basic hand tools and cordless power tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle criticism appropriately.
- Ability to lift approximately 50lbs.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transport.
- FSR B Certification an asset.
- Punctual, dependable and trustworthy.
- Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
