**Job Brief**

Direct, schedule and carry out blasting operations at Conrad’s quarry. You will be responsible for designing, reporting on, and firing production Blasts in Conrad’s quarry while adhering to all federal, provincial and municipal regulations.

**What You’ll Do**

As the Quarry’s Blaster, you will design, schedule, lay-out, and fire blasts safely under the supervision of the lead blaster. You will be responsible for maintaining blast logs as well as ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, rules, and regulations. Other duties will include:

- Maintaining inventory of blasting products while ensuring supply chain.
- Proactively supporting all safety programs.
- Monitoring and assisting with drilling and drill maintenance operations
- Providing detailed electronic blast reports for each blast event.
- Deploying and maintaining seismic monitoring equipment
- Preforming intermediate mathematical equations to quantify Volumes and elevations
- Basic surveying.
- Actively comply with applicable regulatory health and safety policies and practices in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of employees, sub-contractors, company assets, environment, and regulatory compliance.
- Other duties required by the lead blaster and/or quarry manager

**What We’re Looking For**:

- A Class 2 or higher Nova Scotia Blasting license
- 4+ years experience in blasting (i.e. mining, quarry, construction operations)
- Working knowledge of (Canadian)Blasting regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Sound computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience using bulk emulsions.
- Surveying/profiling experience as an asset
- Physically capable of lifting 25kg repeatedly
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team player
