**Job Summary**:
As a **Research Assistant for Global Animal Welfare and Training** at Charles River Laboratories located at the **Senneville** site, you will help collect and analyze data on refinements to rat housing that aims to compare behavioral changes between standard housing and modified housing designed to meet the new CCAC guidelines

In this role, **responsibilities** may include
- Help organize and run various lab animal behavior and welfare research projects.
- Use of Noldus Observer Software to score rat behavior.
- Participate in our monthly animal welfare journal club by assisting in leading discussions and presenting on behavior and welfare papers.
- Conduct literature searches on various topics related to animal behavior and welfare.
- Conduct data entry and analyses as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Key Elements**:
We are looking for the following **qualifications** for this role:

- Veterinary or undergraduate student in animal science or related field
- Experience working with animals
- Past research experience preferred but not necessary
- Good English speaking and writing abilities
- Access to a Windows 10, 64-bit PC with graphics card (needed to run Noldus Observer) preferred

**Role Specific Information**

Location: Senneville (Shuttle service between Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College and Senneville site)

**Salary**: 16$/hr,
Schedule: Weekday schedule, Monday to Friday, be flexible in work schedule and available to work weekends.
Temporary position: summer student
