JA Tech Inc. is a provider of specialized construction & field technical services for most equipment & apparatus which form a part of an electrical power system. The services vary in scope from emergency troubleshooting to installation, maintenance & acceptance testing, commissioning, start-up, system studies & analysis, repairs & turn-key type solutions. We are currently recruiting for a Power System Technician.

**Compensation Package**

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- perform technical and/or hands-on work, including substation installation, maintenance, repairs & testing of substation equipment (including but not limited to, transformers, breakers, switches, protection devices, ground grids, bus field & panel wiring)
- operate mobile oil processing unit/knuckle boom crane
- oil sampling & analysis
- ensure that equipment is properly maintained, employees are properly trained, & work is performed in accordance with health & safety requirements
- oversee overall professionalism of crew & delivery of high-quality service
- complete technical reports & site paperwork as required
- work in conjunction with JA Tech’s technical & construction team to perform maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, repair, specialized installation, commissioning, & start-up of low, medium, & high voltage equipment & apparatus associated with an electrical power system
- conduct work in a manner prescribed by JA Tech’s Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Manual

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Red Seal Electrician or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology recognized by Technology Professionals Saskatchewan
- 5+ years of field experience in industrial or utility setting working with transformers
- Class 1A Driver’s License is an asset
- Knuckle Boom Crane ticket would be an asset
- strong interpersonal, communication, & problem-solving skills
- highly motivated
- ability to understand & perform technically complex calculations
- strong knowledge of drawings (wiring, schematic, & layout)
- able to travel to job sites & remain at projects sites as required
- must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required
