**ROLE**:
**Westminster House is currently recruiting for a casual (on-call) Dietary Aide/Server. Casual shifts (on call) shifts are 0800-1200 and 1515-2000. Note that we cannot guarantee any hours.**

Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, performs a variety of duties within a food service operation such as portioning and serving meals, limited food preparation, maintaining established standards of proper food handling, sanitation and safety. All duties are performed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

- Cleans and sets tables, maintains dining rooms, kitchen work areas, storage areas and kitchen equipment in a safe and clean order.
- Serves food and beverages; operates, maintains and sanitizes daily dietary equipment; puts away and brings out supplies as required.
- Makes beverages and food items such as tea, coffee; assembles food items as assigned, i.e. salad.
- Strips, racks and washes items such as dishes, pots, pans and utensils; manually operates over head hinged door industrial dishwashing machine; stacks clean dishes and utensils.
- Performs cleaning duties such as sweeping and damp mopping floors, cleaning counter tops, sinks, machines and equipment and spot washing walls and splash areas; removes garbage and recycling to industrial storage containers.
- Completes/records equipment temperature audits and chemical concentration audits
- Records changes in resident food preferences on appropriate dietary lists.
- Reports hazards, near misses, unusual occurrences, accidents, and unsafe or faulty equipment/furniture to the Food Services Manager services/designate.
- Attends in-service training and workshops as required by Westminster House.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Grade Grade10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Holder of Level 1 Food Safe Certificate.

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Must have patience and compassion and enjoy working with seniors
- Must be a team player, willing to help others as needed
- Ability to physically carry out the duties of the position and to operate related equipment (repetitive arm movement and lifting)

Ability to organize work.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $17.48-$19.28 per hour
