**Role**:Portfolio Administrator
**Location**: Calgary, Alberta
**Firm**: Brownstone Asset Management Inc.
Brownstone Asset Management (“Brownstone”) is an investment fund manager and exempt market dealer providing streamlined comprehensive investment management services to a plethora of astute and savvy investors alongside Durum Capital, its affiliate private equity firm. Brownstone and Durum are not your typical asset managers. We are a Calgary-based investment firm operating in securities markets, serving independent thinkers—perceptive individuals, families, and trusts who choose to chart their own path to long-term wealth. If you are an accountable, polished, detail-oriented, high-performing and tech-savvy professional who thrives in a thoughtful and intellectually rigorous environment, we’d love to meet you.
**The Role**
As a Portfolio Administrator, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional client service, maintaining accurate data across systems, and supporting our portfolio managers and broader investment team. This is not a back-office role—it’s a front-line opportunity for someone who understands that excellence in execution is foundational to client trust.
You’ll join a tight-knit, collaborative team that values clarity, candor, and original thinking. Our clients are discerning, our expectations are high, and our culture is driven by disciplined, purpose-filled action.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Administer and process client account documentation and onboarding with precision and care.
- Monitor daily activity across investment accounts, flag issues, and resolve discrepancies swiftly.
- Maintain and update client relationship and portfolio management systems, ensuring accurate, real-time data.
- Generate performance reports and other client communications, with a focus on clarity and quality.
- Support client meetings through scheduling, preparation, and follow-up documentation.
- Contribute to the client review process, helping maintain a proactive service model.
- Assist with business development activities and ad hoc reporting as required.
**What We’re Looking For**
- Completion or partial completion of Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook Course is preferred and recommended, but not a strict prerequisite.
- A bachelor’s degree or other similar certification is required.
- Experience in a client service or portfolio administration role within an investment firm, bank, or other business providing financial services.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a service-first mindset.
- Proactive, accountable and diligent in the completion of your responsibilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment with high standards and mutual respect.
- A genuine desire to support a firm that values long-term thinking, human potential, and independent decision-making.
**What You Can Expect at Brownstone**
We believe in the power of original thought. At Brownstone, we don’t follow the herd—we find opportunities where others aren’t looking. Our culture blends entrepreneurial freedom with a commitment to disciplined execution. We are:
- A brain trust of independent thinkers dedicated to building lasting portfolios and purposeful businesses
- Fiercely loyal to one another, operating with honesty, clarity, and commitment
- Passionate about helping exceptional people—both our clients and our team—achieve meaningful results
- Competitive compensation
- RRSP-matching, a comprehensive health, dental, and disability benefits program with an amount allocated for HSA/WSA account
- continuing professional development annual allocation with any job-related licensure or registration fees covered
This is a rare opportunity to join a team that prioritizes trust, innovation, and excellence. If you want more than a job—if you want a mission—this might be the place for you.

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

- Bonus pay
