**Summary**

We are seeking a Civil Lead Hand/Padman to join our dynamic team at Complete Utility Contractors Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring project quality and safety standards are met while leading a skilled team in delivering complex niche projects.

**Duties**
- Hand expose underground utilities (using shovels and metal probes)
- Communicate with and between the equipment operator and the pipelayer, always in visual contact with the ditch, and tells the operator what needs to be done through verbal and hand signals
- Communicate with Foreman onsite for aggregate orders, placement of loads, different load out material for dumpsite, shoring plans, utility conflicts and general front end operation
- Measure the grade of the pipe and bed, checking the grade at regular intervals to ensure it is being maintained (using a grade stick and laser level), and ensuring it agrees with the engineering plans
- Other duties as assigned, such as assisting with site preparation and maintenance activities

**Requirements**:

- Vigilant and detail oriented, constantly watching what is happening on site
- Excellent communicator
- Proficient with hand signals used to communicate with equipment operators
- Excellent knowledge of working and digging around underground utilities

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
