The Planner - PER is responsible for administering VFPA’s Project and Environmental Review process, for participating in planning and policy initiatives related to port development activities and for participating on or coordinating with external committees.
The Planner - PER will be responsible to:
- For Project Permit Applications: Administers the port authority’s Project and Environmental Review Process.
- Coordinates and supports continuous improvement initiatives and administrative practices and procedures to support the Project and Environmental Review process, monitoring, and performance reporting.
- Conducts activities to monitor compliance with project permit conditions and verify implementation of measures identified in management plans, including reviewing reports, documents, and plans, and participates in site visits.
- Provides a range of services regarding policy initiatives related to port development including research, studies, and reports. Participates in a variety of planning and policy initiatives. This involves coordination with port authority departments, tenants, port stakeholders, adjacent municipalities, and Indigenous groups.
- Participates in external committee meetings to support port authority interests.
- Works with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
