**Primary Purpose of Position**:
The Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialist will be directly responsible for the production of BIM models and 2D/3D drawings for the Engineering department. The position will serve as a BIM content specialist and be a pioneer of project technology aiming to increase our scan to BIM to analysis efficiency. In addition, the VDC/BIM Specialist will be required to work collaboratively with the engineering, project, and sales teams. - Position Requirements

Job Duties
- Prepare demolition plans, shop drawings, design drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD and Revit Structures
- Responsible for creating and maintaining 3D models
- Supports the Sales Team with Visualization and Presentation tools such as Navisworks
- Supports research and implementation of construction technology
- Supports prefabrication, and on-site construction teams
- Compiling & analysis of survey field data to produce structural drawings, plans and other deliverable documents
- Ensure field and drawing data is properly stored and organized
- Development of plans and other deliverable documents in accordance with company standards and procedures
- Interpreting construction drawings to derive critical information needed to accomplish the assigned tasks
- Use Edgewise software to model the 3D point cloud for use in Revit and other BIM software
- Utilize Revit to further model structures as required by engineering and perform quantity takeoffs
- Support multiple projects under direction from the engineering team
- Ability to coordinate drawings across multiple company departments - engineering, operations, and sales
- Assemble design drawings and documents for engineering approval
- Working hand and hand with design personnel to complete plans

**Requirements**:

- Diploma from an accredited and recognized institution or a graduate of Building Technology or Architectural CAD program
- Advanced user of AutoCAD and Revit with 7-10+ years’ experience
- Proficient user of Navisworks
- Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy and completeness and accuracy of drawings
- 2-5+ years’ experience in a structural or architectural drafting role
- Advanced knowledge of 3D/4D/5D BIM and Autodesk AEC software - AutoCad, Revit, Inventor, and Navisworks. Knowledgeable in products such as ArchiCAD, Sketchup, Tekla, etc.
- Knowledge of programs related to the scan to BIM process (Cyclone, Edgewise, etc.) would be considered an asset
- A varied background that includes structural drawing preparation of concrete, steel and wood framed structures.
- A positive team player who can work independently and manage multiple tasks, priorities and deliverables
- Able to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel and build strong working relationships
- Able to work in a fast paced, team environment with excellent written and oral communication skills is essential.
- Knowledge in Civil3D would be considered an asset
- Pro-active, team-builder, keen ability to learn
- Strong ability to learn new software, adapt to multiple tasks
- Strong ability to prioritize and deliver on projects
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills

Work Conditions
- Travel to other North American sites may be required.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
