Cooks and Sous Chef, Under the direction of the Executive Chef, will perform fundamental duties, which include
- Responsibility for Intermediate food preparation, such as braising meats, making soups and sauces, cooking seafood and stews, and baking.
- Responsible for supervising the quality of food other cooks are preparing, making sure our standards are met
- Provide junior staff with food production tips and help, ensuring that they fully understand methods and recipes before they are made.
Work with the Head chef, helping to form decisions and opinions on necessary steps, offering input on staff and recipes from their unique perspective, and making decisions that require sound judgment and familiarity with SoCal Restaurant and Lounge policies and restaurant industry guest services standards.
General duties and skills:
- Conflict resolution
- Actively managing labor cost
- Attention to detail in food preparation
- Operating and leading the cooking line
- Maintaining a clean environment
- Maintaining standards for health and safety within the kitchen environment
- Prepare and cost menu items, as well as promote specials to use up excess product
- Valid Food-safe level 1 with level 2 being an asset
First cook duties, line cook duties, prep work, and work in all areas of the kitchen.
Our team helps each other on all shifts; no one is above doing dishes or sweeping, and we all work together to keep the kitchen clean and running efficiently.
Performance is evaluated by the Executive Chef
25 - 40 hours per week.

As a Chef/Cook, you will be essential in delivering high-quality culinary experiences while managing kitchen operations effectively. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will utilize your core skills in food preparation, cooking, and food service to create delicious dishes that delight our guests. Your supervisory experience will enhance team management and foster a collaborative kitchen environment. Join us to showcase your culinary talents and contribute to our restaurant's success in a vibrant hospitality setting.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
