We are seeking a caring, mindful, passionate, and collaborative individual for the role of**:Early Childhood Educator**

Alex House is deeply committed to decolonizing our approach, looking at all of our work through a decolonizing lens.

We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to learning alongside the First Peoples Principles of Learning, the BC Early Learning Framework. At Alex House we look at coupling the principles from these approaches to learn through the delight in children, understand the value of play, their vision, knowledge, skills and have a strong commitment to families.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
Our **Early Childhood Educator **will work to collaborate with a team of Early Childhood Educators to plan, develop and deliver daily activities, that support and promote the health and development of children 0-12 years of age, using the Reggio Emilia approach to learning alongside the BC Early Learning Framework. Other responsibilities include developing strong relationships and communication with children, families and colleagues, and implementing high standards of care and supervision that promote the well-being of all children. And other related duties as required.

**Qualifications Required**:

- Experience working in a licensed childcare setting an asset
- Early Childhood Education Certificate and First Aid certificate
- Understanding and/or willingness to learn the Reggio Emilia approach to learning the First Peoples Principles of Learning and the BC EarlyLearning Framework
- Understand, support and implement Decolonization, Inclusion and Diversity strategic plans for Alex House
- Experience and working knowledge of creating a care plan is an asset.
- Strength in creating and maintaining a supportive and collaborative partnership with families
- Creativity, flexibility, initiative, enthusiasm and sense of humor
- Passion for on-going professional growth and development
- Ability to work in a multicultural and inclusive environment
- Strong planning, organizational, leadership and communication skills
- Proven sound judgement, ethical decision making, ability to stay calm under pressure and appropriate personal and professional boundaries
- In a non-profit community-based organization, have the ability to work in a multicultural and inclusive environment

This is a regular, full-time, 40-hour position, with an annual hiring range: $20.29-$24.03 (ANHBC Band-C2-C3) plus $6 Wage Enhancement-depending on qualifications. **Start Date**: As soon as possible
