Job Overview:
2 Full-time positions

Schedule : 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Salary : $27.08 - $47.98 per hour according to experience

We are looking for a social worker to join our dynamic team.

As a social worker you will be responsible for the psychosocial assessment and identification of psychosocial and financial needs of patients and their families. We take a systems approach to our work and are committed to providing the highest quality of care to children and their families. You will report directly to the Head of Social Work, Nutrition and Psychology. Join our team - and together we will help children reach their full potential.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accompany more vulnerable families during their journey at Shriners (from the first appointment in the outpatient clinic, to post-surgery);
- Write the psychosocial treatment plan taking into account the resources of the family and the living environment;
- Represent the families to the medical and interdisciplinary team;
- Promote mutual communication between the medical team and the family;
- Refer and orient families towards resources in the community and make the link with professionals already involved;
- Intervene in crisis situations;
- Accompany parents in their questioning of their parental role;
- Make the link with the transport and accommodation team;
- Explore possible solutions and refer families to the appropriate resources;
- Ensure that the different cultural and linguistic realities and the rights of the families being helped are respected;
- Participate in clinical research, various committees and quality improvement projects.

Qualifications:

- Fluency in French written and spoken; capacity to communicate in English is required in order to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients and/or stakeholders.
- University degree in social work
- Member in good standing of the professional order OTSTCFQ
- Experience in the health and social services network, an asset
- Excellent listening and mutual assistance skills
- Good ability to relate to others
- Team player and collaborator
- Organizational skills, initiative, autonomy
- Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
