Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.
**What you will do?**
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking three (3) individuals to join the Bathurst District as an Operations Worker II working in the Construction Branch.
As an Operations Worker II, you will work under the direction of the Senior Resident Engineer and be responsible to:
- Assisting in survey field work related to highway maintenance and construction.
- Operating scales to weigh and check materials; record and verify contents.
- Setting up survey instruments.
- Assisting to establish benchmarks, highway alignment stakes and grades.
- Ensuring survey truck is properly equipped.
- Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment.
**Work environment**
- Office location: Bathurst
- Work holidays, weekends, and variable hours
- May work in adverse road and weather conditions

**Essential qualifications**
- Completion of grade ten (10) and a minimum of two (2) years related work experience.
- Possession of a valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver's license is also required.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English or French is required. Please state your language capability.

**SALARY**:$22.72 per hour, based on 40 hours per week
