Family Home expands the range of residential options available in the community and allows individual needs to be met in a more flexible and personal manner. The service provides a family setting for individuals who may require supervision, prefer living with a family, and who may need the additional support that a family environment can provide. Family Home matches an individual with a developmental/intellectual disability to a person or family who wishes to share their home and life. Care, supervision and support within a family setting is provided and both the individual and the Family Home Provider receive a variety of supports from agency staff. Most often, these living arrangements develop into long-term commitments and relationships.

We are currently seeking families in Leeds and Grenville who are interested in opening their home to provide a supportive family environment to youth and adults with a developmental disability. Developmental Services will provide financial remuneration and on-going professional support to successful applicants. Families will provide a caring, supportive and stable family life environment to assist the individual to reach their full potential, through active community and family participation.
