Smt Technician

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the SMT Technician is a key member of the operations team responsible for technical aspects of PCBA production and equipment maintenance.

The SMT Technician works in close cooperation with the multi-disciplinary team composed of manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and design engineering to achieve the highest level of manufacturing process performance.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for efficient production of PCBA, equipment maintenance ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Develop Machine Programs, Debug, Operate and Maintain: Screen Printer, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick and Place, and AOI.
- Create soldering profile for SMT Reflow Oven, and Operate and Maintain the Reflow Oven
- Operate production equipment and perform builds when required.
- Troubleshoot, root cause and document defective product or process failures. This includes utilizing troubleshooting tools such as: X-Ray, Microscope other inspection tools.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance for SMT line equipment.
- Familiarity with problem solving, corrective action implementation, failure, and root cause analysis investigations.
- Involve in continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve machines and equipment readiness and quality of output.

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:

- Strong and proficient in hand soldering.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including PCBA, electronic/semiconductor fabrication, surface finishing, machining, plating, injection molding, etc.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance scheduling and processing.
- Minimum 3 years of working with SMT equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering is preferred.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings/blueprints, specifications, and bill of materials.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IPC-A-610 standards, ESD and WHMIS.
- Flexible and willing to work in very fast-paced environment where tasks and priorities may change often.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Proactive, self-starter and safety-conscious
- Excellent time management skills and commitment to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
