Riverview Enhanced Living is a community of care, support, and advocacy for adults with varying abilities. We are currently recruiting **Summer Recreation Assistants **to join our team. The Recreation Programmer plans and implements a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities for participants. The Summer Recreation Assistant plans and implements a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities for participants. The Summer Recreation Assistant will be required to be flexible regarding work hours, adapt to varying work settings, changes in routines, programs, and work assignments. The Summer Recreation Assistant will be responsible for working with family, and other care staff to promote social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual wellbeing in participants.

**Core Job Functions**:

- Plan and facilitate a variety of recreation and leisure programs to meet client needs
- Provide opportunities for social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual growth
- Assist participants to and from programs
- Provide group and one on one programs for participants
- Purchase items needed on units as approved by the Recreation Director
- Operate the company vehicles safely and competently in accordance with all safety regulations
- Document participants participation for each program and maintain documentation of participants charts
- Participate in education opportunities as required
- Encourage and promote independence and wellness for all clients
- Continuously monitor and assess participants well-being, while responding to unmet needs appropriately
- Recognize and report any change in participants circumstance that pose a potential threat to their health, safety, security, or well being
- Provide assistance with implementing the health care plan or therapeutic treatment for participants

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Experience in Recreation
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Safe Food Handlers Course
- WHMIS
- Certified in Emergency First Aid/CPR
- NVCI
