Job description:
**Job Title**: IT Network Technician - Level 2
**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Cabling and Infrastructure Installation**:
- Perform structured **CAT5e/CAT6 cabling** installations, labeling, and termination.
- Conduct **rack and stack** installations for network and server equipment.
- Install and **wall-mount network devices**, patch panels, and wireless access points.
- Ensure clean and organized cabling with **service loops** and proper cable management.
- **Network and Hardware Configuration**:
- Deploy and configure **Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls**.
- Assist with **POS system installations** and integrations including **pin pads** and **peripherals**.
- Install, configure, and maintain **network servers and backup systems**.
- Set up and test **printers, monitors, and other hardware devices**.
- **System Administration & Support**:
- **Troubleshoot hardware and software** issues across multiple platforms.
- **Reimage and upgrade Windows systems** from **Windows 10 to Windows 11**.
- Perform **routine system maintenance**, updates, and patching.
- Document configurations, service calls, and maintenance records.
- **Restaurant & Retail Site Support**:
- Provide **on-site and remote support** for restaurant IT systems (POS, network, and kiosk systems).
- Coordinate **maintenance and repair work** in quick-service environments.
- Ensure **mínimal downtime** during upgrades and repairs to avoid service disruption.
**Qualifications**:
- **3-6 years of hands-on experience** as an IT/Network Technician (Level 2 or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of **LAN/WAN topologies**, IP addressing, and subnetting.
- Experience with **Cisco or equivalent networking hardware**.
- Solid experience with **cabling standards & rack-stack wall mount, network installations, and hardware & other devices install & maintenance**.
- Familiarity with **POS systems, pin pads, and restaurant network environments**.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and travel to various site locations.
**Preferred Certifications**:
- **CompTIA Network+ / A+ / Security+**:
- **Cisco CCNA (or working toward certification)**:
- **Microsoft MTA/MCSA** (or equivalent experience)
**Soft Skills**:

**Termination & Punch Tools**
- Punch-down tool
- Wire strippers (for Cat5e/Cat6 cable)
- RJ45 connector crimping tool
- Scissors or snips
- Fish tapes / Drills / Rods
**Testing & Certification Tools**
- Cable certifier
- Tone generator and probe kit
- Continuity tester / Network cable tester
- Multimeter
- Network tester with PoE detection and link speed
**Installation & Mounting Tools**
- Drywall saw or jab saw (for low-voltage wall plate cutouts)
- Stud finder (for safe mounting on walls)
- Measuring tape and level (for precise rack or faceplate placement)
- Nut driver set / socket set (for tightening rack bolts and mounts)
- Screwdriver set (flathead, Phillips, Torx, etc.)
**Labeling & Organization**
- Label printer (you already mentioned - e.g., Brother P-touch or Brady labeler)
- Cable tags and wraps (Velcro or zip ties)
- Structured cable manager panels / D-rings
- Velcro cable ties (reusable, safe for network cables)
**Ladders & Lifts**
- 6-12 ft ladder
**Laptop or Tablet with**:
- Console cable (RJ45-to-USB or serial for switch/router configuration)
**Safety & PPE**
- Safety glasses
- Work gloves
- Hard hat (if on construction sites)
