Position Summary:
As an **Activities Program Volunteer** at Memory Lane Home Living, you will be a vital part of our team, working under the supervision of our Program Facilitator to enrich the lives of the clients in our all-women home for women living with dementia. We are seeking female volunteers who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of older adults and have a keen interest in Recreational Therapy, Psychology, Social Service Work, or Music Therapy. Your role will involve assisting in the planning and execution of engaging activities, fostering meaningful connections with our residents, and creating a warm and inclusive environment.

**Requirements**:

- **Commitment**: You must be able to commit to one 5-hour shift per week, either on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Willing to commit to at least 6 months.
- **Experience**: Prior experience working with individuals with dementia (either through work or lived experience) is required.
- **Location**: Volunteers must reside in Richmond Hill or close surrounding areas.
- **Age Requirement**: Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
- **Interests**: An enjoyment of music, the outdoors, games, and engaging in conversations is essential.
- **Willingness to Learn**: We value volunteers who are eager to learn and grow in their roles.
- **Empathy and Compassion**: Demonstrated ability to foster meaningful relationships with older adults with dementia and fellow volunteers.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Activity Planning and Execution:

- Collaborate with the Program Facilitator to plan and organize engaging activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of our clients.
- Assist in setting up and preparing materials for each activity session.

2. Resident Engagement:

- Engage with residents during activities, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Encourage participation and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

3. Relationship Building:

- Develop meaningful connections with residents, understanding their preferences, and providing person-centered care.
