The South Riverdale Child-Parent Centre is a non-profit family support program that has operated in the Riverdale neighbourhood for 44 years. The Centre provides programs and services that support parents/caregivers, foster development, and strengthen families and communities, including a drop-in program, toy and book libraries, workshops, and outings. The Centre also operates as an Early ON site.

**Position summary**:
The Program Staff will work alongside Program Facilitators to implement play-based, developmentally-appropriate programs and activities for children aged 0 to 6 years, along with their parents and caregivers. The Program Staff will assist with facilitating the Saturday drop-in, and performing administrative tasks, such as maintaining Toy and Parenting Book Libraries, and collecting attendance data. The Program Staff will communicate and interact in a professional, constructive, and collaborative manner with participants, Staff Team, and volunteers.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Assist with
- Welcoming and orienting new participants
- Coordinating drop-in, including
- implementing activities that scaffold children’s development
- preparing snack
- facilitating a song/story circle
- providing a safe, sanitary, welcoming, and enriching program environment
- modelling positive behaviour guidance techniques
- listening empathically to participants’ concerns
- Connecting families with community resources and neighbours
- Updating bulletin boards with health news and information about local programs and resources
- Maintaining Toy and Parenting Book Libraries:

- updating records
- collecting outstanding items
- cleaning and organizing materials
- Collecting accurate attendance data
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal

**Salary**: $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Staff are currently wearing masks and there are extra cleaning protocols.
