**Key Job Responsibilities**:
- Adheres to and achieves daily shift schedules and established guidelines for shipping, receiving and material handling to achieve daily productivity objectives.
- Loads and unloads case goods from trucks safely, efficiently and effectively. Performs perimeter checks to ensure all trucks are docked and locked, chocked and the air brake lock is applied before entering trailer. Ensures outside perimeter and all shipping areas are consistently clean and free of trash.
- Loads trucks in adherence with proper stacking patterns and appropriate weight distribution to ensure safe transport.
- Safely operates lift trucks, and conducts work with the high degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and damage of building or equipment. Consistently promotes a safe work environment.
- Conducts machine safety inspections at the beginning of each shift, fill out the proper safety sheets, to the manager before operating the assigned forklift.
- Locates materials and supplies, pick orders /jobs, document and stage product in the correct area of warehouse as outlined by the process flow and procedures.
- Effectively stocks maintenance and palletization for consistent warehouse and product sku pallet configuration and counts.
- Complies with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Without limitation, wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times in accordance with Tayco's policies.
- Maintains a clean and well-organized work area; works in conjunction with afternoon shift employees to do so.
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of management.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Holds a valid Forklift Operator certificate and pass any Tayco provided Forklift Operator certificate training when required.
- Is able to operate material handling equipment (pump trucks, walkies, dollies, etc).
- Ability to understand, speak, read and write English. Understand verbal and written work instructions, which are typically routine, accuracy and attention to detail is necessary. In addition, must be able to speak, read and understand health and safety procedures, document work, train others, problem solve in teams, learn new work processes and participate in continuous learning and weekly team meetings.
- Able to achieve results and drive efficiencies in their day to day work.
- Able to take initiative and demonstrate pro-active problem solving in their day to day work..
- Complies with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times in accordance with Tayco's policies.
- Is able to lift materials up to 50 pounds and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them and to move, bend, twist or maintaining awkward body positions while performing work.
