**Class 1 Position Highlights**: - Shift: Evening Shift, 4 x 10 hour shifts, 5:00 pm start time - Competitive hourly rate for first 3 months **($30.62/hr. to start and it would bump up to $35.76/hr. after 12 months)**: - Pay for performance incentive program after 3 months - 4 day work week with overtime opportunities (if applicable) - Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and EFAP Benefits after 30 days - FULL flex benefits program and company matching RRSP - Local routes --> guaranteed to be home every day - Family culture and advancement opportunities **Skills, Knowledge and Ability Required**: - Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract - Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs.) - Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency - Previous professional driving experience is preferred - Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions **Responsibilities Include**: - Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships - Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift) - Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes - Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting - Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices - Following health and safety and safe work procedures GFSBCL **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: $30.62-$35.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Dental care - Disability insurance - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - Paid time off - RRSP match Schedule: - 10 hour shift - Night shift - Weekend availability Supplemental pay types: - Bonus pay - Overtime pay Application question(s): - You will only spend roughly 30% of your day driving and the other 70% is physical labor as you are lifting the product by hand from skids. The average piece of product is 20-30 lbs. However our heaviest piece of product is 80lbs - are you comfortable lifting up to that much on your own?
