**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Provides operation and maintenance of all systems and equipment associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems and all water treatment systems.
- Inspects, tests, verifies, and maintains all life safety equipment operation.
- Performs general maintenance for buildings and grounds as required.
- Carries out after hours emergency response on-call duties on a rotational basis or as required by schedules.
- Contract management: supervise contractors and ensure contract specifications are being met; review existing contracts for changes/updates.
- Completes all required documentation related to work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Contacting vendors for purchasing. ie filters, belts, chemical tests etc.
- Contacting contractors to come in for repairs

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Heating & Cooling or Electrical systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Fourth Class Stationary/Power Engineer Certificate, Systems Maintenance Technician or equivalent combination of education and experience would be an asset.
- Experience operating a computerized building system and related equipment considered an asset.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge to others.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Required to be on-call on a rotational basis.
