We currently have a **Regular Full-time** opportunity for a **Health Information Analyst **in the **Decision Support **Department at our **Bayview **Campus.

**Hours of Work**:

- Weekdays: Days; 8 hrs; As per schedule**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Manager of Coding services, the Information Analyst is responsible for data extraction, data submission, data quality, and reporting of performance data to support evidence based decision making and to advance the operational and strategic goals of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. This role will work closely with Decision Support, Finance, Coding, Health Records and Information Services to support internal submission and reporting requirements. The Information Analyst will also interface with various external information management entities, such as Cancer Care Ontario, WTIS, Daily Bed Census and Canadian Institute for Health Information to fulfill certain external reporting obligations.

**Responsibilities**
- Proactively identify opportunities to implement processes to improve data quality related to
- DAD/NACRS/OMHRS/NRS and Registration data.
- Extract and analyze clinical and operational data from various hospital databases to fulfill reporting requirements, monitor performance and support organizational goals.
- Prepare submissions for external reporting (DAD/NACRS/OMRS/NRS) while performing reconciliations across multiple data sources.
- Creates reports, dashboard and provide summaries of analysis.
- Responds to routine ad hoc request for data or analysis.
- Maintains a number of operational Access databases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications/ Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in health care or a related discipline.
- Canadian Health Information Management Certification (CHIMA)
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of WinRecs Coding/Abstracting system (DAD,NACRS,OMHRS/NRS)
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of HIG’s, RCG, SCIPP and ACW's required.
- Foundational knowledge of hospital funding methodologies such as QBPs, HBAM and Bundled Care
- Knowledge and skills in report writing (e.g. SQL, SSRS, PowerBI, Crystal Reports)
- High proficiency in MS office, especially Access and Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of MOHLTC Reporting Guidelines.
- Must be well organized and able to demonstrate high productivity and accuracy with attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment, and to exercise tact and discretion with good judgment and problem solving skills.
- Adherence to confidentiality policy for sensitive clinical/patient information.
- Demonstrated satisfactory performance and attendance record
