Speciality Paint Sales Associate

North Toronto Paints is seeking a Speciality Paint Sales Associate to join the team. We have been a supplier of coatings since 1994 to paint contractors as well as to the industrial and commercial sector and continue to maintain our knowledge of the coatings industry. We are looking for someone with experience with paints and who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service. As a Speciality Paint Sales Associate for North Toronto Paints you’ll have everything you need to accelerate your career forward.

The primary responsibilities of our Specialty Paint Sales Associate positions are to maintain outstanding customer service, uphold our Mission and Core Values, help create the best paint department experience possible, generate sales, merchandise product, and support the store management team. Specialty Paint Sales Associates are tasked with additional and specialized duties that include giving colour and paint product selection advice, receiving product, and otherwise extending our customer first philosophy to be the most helpful paint supplier possible.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintain the paint counter and aisles on a daily basis
- Offer colour matching expertise and paint product selection advice
- Ensure that the paint department is performing (on a weekly basis) to the expectations of management
- Ensure each customer receives outstanding service at all times
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
- Execute the daily operational, day to day goals and priorities assigned by management
- Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards.
- Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized.
- Aware of and able to respond to safety issues.
- Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures and policies on a timely basis

Job Qualifications:

- Min 1 year paint store experience; colour matching experience required
- Sales and marketing experience as well as buying experience and working with customers is a plus
- Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel a plus.
- A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays if need be

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift 65 pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders.
- Ability to stand for an extended period.
- Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Concord, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
