BCIT’s **Renewable Resources Department** is seeking an enthusiastic and team-oriented **temporary, part-time (0.13**FTE**) Faculty**to teach fish ecology in RENR 7004: Fish and Wildlife Ecology Management.

The Ecological Restoration BSc Program provides graduates with a strong foundation in the methods available to restore a broad range of ecosystems that have been impacted by human influences in British Columbia, across Canada and in other parts of the world. Ecological Restoration graduates will not only bring skills and expertise to current employers but will also be leaders and innovators in this rapidly developing industry.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- This temporary position will teach one course to students enrolled in the Ecological Restoration BSc Program during the Fall 2025 term. **RENR** 7004** is a 4-credit course with 4 hours of student contact per week. We are looking for an Instructor to teach the Fish Ecology component, 4 hours per week, for the first half of the course.

**Qualifications**

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master’s degree in ecology, biology or a related environmental science discipline.
- Recent field and/or operational experience in the course area.
- Experience in fish ecology for **RENR** 7004**.
- Demonstrates the ability to lead groups in the field and teach field skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively teach at the post-secondary level in classroom, field and online settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team, being flexible and adaptable to meet the needs and challenges of a dynamic program.
- Ability to combine multiple sources of knowledge in a teaching context, particularly with engaging relevant Indigenous knowledge-holders and environmental stewards.
- Recent experience and knowledge of industry standard safety protocols.
- Class 5 driver license.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- PhD in biology, ecology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of recent field and/or operational experience in the course areas listed above.
- Professional designation is an asset (i.e. RPBio, P. Geo).
- Class 4 (unrestricted) driver license.
- Post-secondary teaching experience.
