**About Kinnect Support Services**:
Kinnect Support Services is a social services partner that provides trained staff support to various organizations in need of relief staff. Our team offers support to agencies that work with individuals who experience behavioral, social, emotional, physical, and psychiatric difficulties.

**The Role**:
We are looking for experienced mental health and addiction workers to support in residential programs working with adults facing mental health and/or substance use concerns. Programs range from low to high supports.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote independence and self-determinism for residents through mentoring and life skills teaching such as hygiene, cooking, cleaning and budgeting
- Provide crisis intervention and follow crisis support plans
- Support residents with medication management
- Conduct regular safety checks on residents
- Conduct daily check-ins with residents and ensure they are connecting with case workers
- Support with meal preparation for residents

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Degree in **Social Services worker**, **Social Worker, Addictions & Mental Health, **or related program.
- Experience and/or knowledge of the mental health and addictions systems
- Must have experience with medication handling for clients
- Valid CPI training and Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C required
- Need to have or willing to get a Vulnerable Sector Police Check

**Skills to Have**:

- Good oral and verbal communication skills - English is essential.
- Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Respects each resident as an individual and is aware of his/her need for self-respect and privacy, and the right to share in decisions about his/her care.
- Is capable of working in a team environment.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates ability to organize workload and to respond efficiently and effectively to unexpected workload and situations.

**License/Certification**:

- Post Secondary Diploma/Degree in the Social Services Field? (required)
- Up to date immunizations, TB Test, and Covid Vaccination? (required)
- Employment Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months? (required)
- Non-violent crisis prevention training (CPI)? (required)
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C? (required)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 40 per week
