The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Bureau Commander, Healthy Workplace Team is seeking a qualified individual to join our Healthy Workplace Team Operations. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will work with members of the OPP in the development and care and provide social work expertise and advice services in the area of mental health, addictions and trauma. About Us: The OPP continues to work to ensure psychological health, safety and respect are embedded into all aspects of our organization. The Healthy Workplace Team is evolving towards a practitioner-led structure, which will include regional service hubs across the province, and will be as independent of the organization as possible to ensure member confidentiality while adhering to the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). The Healthy Workplace Team provides access to a wide-range of health and wellness services. Our team is comprised of psychologists, mental health clinicians, and care navigators. Our team also offers fitness and nutrition services. The Healthy Workplace Team coordinates organizational and wellness programs including peer support and the Chaplaincy Program. Our team also coordinates and supports the occupational medicine program for employees and managers which is delivered by an external occupational physician. Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: To work with members of the OPP in the development and care and provide social work expertise and advice services in the area of mental health, addictions and trauma. Note: This position requires extensive travel throughout the Province often on short notice in response to critical incidents. This position is required to participate in rotational on call assignments in addition to regular weekly hours. **How do I qualify?**: **Mandatory**: Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation. Degree or diploma in Social Work or Social Service Work, or equivalent (e.g. Psychotherapist, Registered Nurse with mental health/addiction specialty, etc.) is required. Understanding of human development stages across the lifespan to provide mental health, trauma counselling, family therapy and to provide interpretation and coaching to OPP staff. Knowledge of community resources across Ontario, and related sectors to engage stakeholders, promote the integration of programs with regional priorities/programs and to identify needs, service gaps and pressures. Knowledge of case management techniques and quality standards in order to ensure effective service delivery in accordance with the program and objectives. Knowledge of principles and practices of training and development to develop and present training programs within the OPP and for community partner organizations. Ability to assist in the development, implementation, review and evaluation of health care programs and services to ensure high standards are maintained. Ability to assess risks and make sound determinations surrounding continued health care and special service needs. Ability to plan, prioritize and organize case load to ensure the effective case management and monitoring of caseload and to ensure that all required reports and statistics are prepared in a timely manner. Ability to provide clinical oversight of case files and identify contentious issues. Ability to work with families of the OPP staff, providing assistance and support to in various human resource matters including illness and injury, employment accommodation and disability management. Courtesy, professionalism, tact and diplomacy to build rapport with clients, and interface with them in providing information and support to effectively resolve complex issues related with mental health, trauma and addictions. Ability to respond to employee and family inquiries, provide process and procedural information to assist members and support family members with processes/procedures in the event of an employee/family death.
