Welcome to the Extraordinary. The Hazelton Hotel Toronto is comprised of 77 suites in a limestone building that has been designed to set the standard for five-star hotels in Canada. Located in the heart of fashionable Yorkville, guests will be steps away from the luxury shops of Bloor Street, and many of the country's finest art galleries, world-class museums, and theatres. The oversized accommodations are designed by internationally renowned designers Yabu Pushelberg and feature the latest in technology and communication.
- Reporting to the Security + Loss Prevention Manager

Guest Experience & VIP Protection:

- Provide a discreet yet visible security presence to reassure guests while maintaining an atmosphere of exclusivity and comfort.
- Escort VIPs, and high-profile guests as required, ensuring their privacy and safety.
- Assist guests and employees with security-related concerns in a professional, empathetic, and service-oriented manner.

Security & Surveillance:

- Conduct regular overnight patrols of all hotel areas, including guest floors, lobbies, restaurants, spas, and parking areas.
- Monitor high-end retail areas and valuable hotel assets to prevent theft and unauthorized access.
- Operate and monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems to detect and respond to security threats proactively.

Crisis Management & Emergency Response:

- Operating as a member of the ‘Emergency Response Team’ by taking appropriate actions to security incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations such as theft, medical emergencies, or fire alarms.
- Reporting and investigating occurrences of all incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities in a timely and accurate manner. To collaborate with the Security + Loss Prevention Manager and law enforcement when necessary.

Loss Prevention & Policy Enforcement:

- Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas and ensure compliance with hotel security protocols.
- Conduct security screenings when required while ensuring a seamless guest experience.
- Investigate and report suspicious activities, unauthorized personnel, or potential security risks.

Discreet Conflict Resolution & Professionalism:

- Work closely with the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to security.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Valid Ontario Security License
- Current First Aid and C.P.R. certificates
- Security Diploma or equivalent post-secondary education would be an asset.
- Have good knowledge of CCTV systems, alarm systems
- Excellent organization skills, problem-solving abilities, and written and oral communication skills.
- Proven experience preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment, or in a related field, an asset
