Our robust Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility program continues to grow, and has been recognized by the United Nations and many other organizations for our leadership. **ABOUT THE ROLE** This position is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive Business Continuity and Emergency Management program, including overseeing Emergency Social Services, ensuring the Department is in a state of operational readiness in the event of an emergency in accordance with corporate policies, standards and applicable statute/regulatory requirement. **WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING** - Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function. - Acts as a lead for the development and implementation of business continuity and emergency management program including training and public education. - Leads the research and analysis on pertinent issues and trends for management to make informed program and policy decisions. - Monitors and evaluates program delivery to meet goals and objectives of the Branch and the Department while ensuring that standards are met and follow governing legislation. - Provides direction in the development and implementation of program plans, and policies and procedures ensuring consistency and alignment of all plans with broader corporate plans, standards, and business goals. - Oversees the strategic and operational planning and the development of the communication strategies and annual business plan, including resources allocation, and monitors the action plan for achieving results - Liaises, fosters and maintains positive relationships with internal staff and external contacts, government and non-government agencies and the public. - Supervises staff, including recruitment, selection, hiring, scheduling, assigning and monitoring work, determining training and development needs, coaching and mentoring, conducting performance appraisals and determining/recommending disciplinary action up to and including dismissal in accordance with collective agreements, Regional policies and practices. - Ensures that operating staff work in a safe manner and utilize all required health and safety equipment and protective devices and follow all measures and procedures as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Regional Policies. - Performs other duties as assigned to meet Departmental and Corporate objectives. **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR** - Successful completion of a University Degree in Public Administration or
