**Quality Assurance / Quality Control Specialist**

**Your Mission**

The primary role of the QA/QC Specialist is to provide technical support for Quality Assurance (QA) activities, to provide technical assistance on the production floor, and the management of document control activities for all Quality and FSSC 22000 related functional groups within Puratos Canada Inc. As a key member of the QA department, participates in department projects, operational committees, and other organizational initiatives.

**What you will do**

**Quality Assurance**
- Evaluate, enhance and measure quality management systems.
- Conduct internal audits in accordance with local and national food safety and legal requirements.
- Identify problems and bottlenecks related to HACCP and ISO certification, and when appropriate, recommend solutions.
- Recommends, prepares and implements Quality Systems SOPs including all QA checklists in accordance with local and national food safety and legal requirements.
- Prepare new launch documentation, incl label, TDS, allergen, etc
- Prepare and provide customer with specification, nutritional information, allergen, kosher certificate, and other needed documents.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and provide updates to the team.
- Handles customer documentation request.
- Conducts Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits in accordance with the QA internal audit schedule. Identifies problems and bottlenecks related to GMP, and recommends solutions.
- Facilitates positive release of products by reviewing batch documentation, ensuring products meet in-house and customer-specific requirements, and processes releases.
- Supports the Puratos Foods' safety and quality system by implementing and following procedures, enforcing GMP requirements, and participating in training.
- Supports the QA/QC Supervisor to implement, maintain, and improve all the programs for all the certified products

**Technical Assistance**
- Monitor production areas for maintaining regulatory and food safety requirements.

**Document Control System**
- Review departmental SOPs to ensure the SOP is accurate to what is being performed on the production floor, and route the SOPs through the review and approval process and applies appropriate document controls.
- Complete technical writing of policies and procedures to facilitate compliance to regulatory, HACCP, and FSSC 22000 guidelines.
- Create forms and log sheets to record critical data.
- Review and assessment of policies, SOP’s, forms, log sheets, and other documentation for effectiveness and accuracy.Manages the change control system for controlled documentation produced by the company.

**Internal Support and Service**
- Provides internal training in accordance with QA prepared Internal Training Schedule.May be required to coordinate and/or participate in cross-functional internal committees on behalf of quality assurance.

**Validation Duties**
- Provides guidance in the support and maintenance of the corporate Master Validation Program. Maintains the corporate validation plan, and recommend changes that are necessary due to changes in regulations and industry standards, and/or changes that are due to change control documentation produced by the company.
- Participates in the establishment of Validation protocols for facilities, utilities, equipment, processes and systems. Manages Document Control process for Validation protocols. Coordinates the execution and maintenance of Validation protocols by:

- Reviewing, evaluating and recommending approval/rejection of qualification process
- Assisting in testing procedures.
- Making recommendation on Validation Non-Conformance issues
- Ensuring the validation protocol has a process for resolving these non-conformance outcomes
- Ensuring the Validation protocols has a change control process.
- Identifies, develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for the management of the corporate Validation program.
