**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, the Booking Clerk is the initial contact for the unit and ensures clear concise communication and facilitates the flow of information with other facilities, the health care team, visitors, family members and patients. As part of a multidisciplinary team the Booking Clerk provides supportive service to patients, core nursing staff and physicians and works in cooperation with departments within the hospital setting as well as other Nursing units. The role may also include stocking and ordering of equipment for the department.
The Booking Clerk ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.
**Qualifications**:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Graduate of an approved office administration course or minimum of one (1) year experience in a secretarial/general clerical position
- Successful completion of a course in medical terminology
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (listening, verbal and written), demonstrating a high degree of tact, sensitivity, judgment, courtesy and confidentiality when dealing with physicians, all levels of staff and the public.

- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Casual Relief position
**Salary Information**:
$21.80 to $24.39 hourly
