Environmental Compliance and Site Project Manager

S&R Sawmills has a long history of Custom Cutting in the Lower Mainland. We are a family run business that was established in 1963 and currently have a workforce of over 300 employees on a large strip of the Fraser River. Employee safety is the highest priority with experience, knowledge and hard work being the backbone for many years.

**Role Description**:
Reporting to the Vice President, the Environmental Compliance and Site Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the company follows all regulatory requirements, permitting, annual dredging and maintenance project work.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Oversee and execute tasks related to the company’s environmental requirements, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and, where appropriate, best practices in the industry
- Accompany third party inspectors during site reviews; oversee compliance to issues identified during third party inspections
- Provide advice and recommendations for improving environmental protection and correcting any inefficient practices and/or issues of environmental non-conformance
- Manage the companies permitting program and the renewal of the existing permits and/or the securing of new permits on an as needed basis
- Project manager for annual dredging at all mill locations
- When required, manage projects that are not part of the everyday running of the company.
- File, maintain and report on project related documentation to senior management
**Qualifications, Experience and Skills**:
- Minimum 2 years of Environmental and Safety experience
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent problem-solving, organization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary per annum $70,000.00 - $90,000 (Actual salary offered will be based on education, job-related expertise, qualifications, and experience).
