The Facilities Maintenance Planner creates and maintains asset inventory and maintenance management systems to optimize asset reliability and lifecycle planning. This role develops and schedules preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinates resources and inventory, and supports capital and operational projects. By analyzing performance data and collaborating across teams, the Maintenance Planner drives continuous improvement, supports budgeting processes, and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards to maximize facility efficiency and asset longevity.

**What you do**:

- Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for all facility systems and assets using Maintenance Management Systems, aligning with regulatory requirements, service level agreements, and operational priorities.
- Create detailed and integrative maintenance job plans and work packages, including task sequences, checklists, safety requirements, required tools, parts, labor estimates, and technical references to support efficient and standardized work execution.
- Assess work requests to determine scope, priority, safety needs, and required resources, collaborating with supervisors to optimize sequencing and efficiency.
- Publish and maintain maintenance schedules, balancing planned preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and emergency work. Adjust schedules dynamically to accommodate urgent repairs, facility events, seasonal demands, planned shutdowns, and facility constraints, minimizing disruption and maximizing resource efficiency.
- Lead maintenance planning and scheduling meetings with managers, supervisors, and maintenance staff to ensure effective resource utilization, align priorities, and optimize schedule accuracy.
- Prepare, issue, and assign work orders to trades and maintenance staff, ensuring clear task details, resource allocation, and adherence to safety and operational requirements.
- Monitor maintenance execution, tracking work order progress, verifying task completion, and closing work orders in maintenance management systems after compliance review.
- Monitor and triage the maintenance backlog by reviewing outstanding work orders and resource capacity to support proactive scheduling and resource allocation for backlog completion.
- Maintain a comprehensive asset inventory within maintenance management systems, ensuring accurate tracking of asset additions, removals, and life cycle update changes.
- Ensure asset records are complete and accurate, including technical data, drawings, manuals, specifications, failure history, and maintenance procedures, etc.
- Administer and configure maintenance management systems, maintaining data integrity, system usability, and workflow alignment, etc., to optimize efficiencies.
- Provide system training and support to staff, promoting consistent data entry, standardized asset management practices, and effective system use.
- Analyze maintenance and asset data to identify trends, recurring failures, and operational inefficiencies, using insights to recommend improvements to maintenance programs, job plans, and scheduling strategies.
- Continuously refine maintenance strategies by integrating feedback from staff, inspections, and assessments to improve efficiency, reliability, and service delivery.

**What you bring**:

- Completion of a high school diploma, along with a trade certification or a two-year full-time technical diploma.
- A minimum of four years of relevant post-certification/diploma experience is required, including at least 3 years of maintenance planning experience within a similar work environment.
- Completion of a maintenance planning or management course is also required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Must have experience using maintenance management systems to develop, schedule, and optimize maintenance work.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and maintenance management systems is required.
Formal training or experience in projects, facilities, or maintenance management is considered an asset.
