**What can you expect from this position?**
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing, CapEx, this position is responsible for providing strategic sourcing support to their internal business partners to ensure simplified, cost effective, and strategic sourcing outcomes.
**As a Sourcing specialist, you will**:
- Develop an understanding of client business, directives and roles, immediate and long-range plans and deliver training to clients on the GTAA Strategic Sourcing program;
- Consult with clients on their sourcing needs, develop sourcing strategies to meet those needs and provide ongoing guidance and advice to clients throughout the process, including cost and time saving opportunities;
- Deliver, including some significant and high-profile sourcing and contracting services for clients including: managing the bid process and making adjustments to sourcing strategies as required, negotiate terms and conditions and award contracts, and investigate and support clients in the resolution of contractual problems with suppliers;
- Identify problems in sourcing activities and develop solutions to ensure client expectations are met, consult with proponents as required, investigate and research various materials and proponent practices, and provide expert advice to client managers on the best courses of action;
- Monitor client sourcing activities to ensure GTAA and industry standards, regulations and policies are adhered to; maintain the Resource Planning Tool, (RMT) database; develop Request For “X - tenders, proposals, etc.” (RFX) documents and facilitate and oversee the process, including evaluation, prepare contracts, chair and participate in meetings, create and maintain documents and other records;
- Lead and participate in special projects; audit work of clients in the sourcing and contracting process; draft unique contract clauses; and consult with the various GTAA partners involved in the document review process while representing the client and process as required;
- Participate as a team member in the development of new and improvement of existing Strategic Sourcing processes and tools; and
- Provide backup to other Sourcing Specialists
This unionized position is classified at the Band 7 level, with an hourly wage of $43.33, based on a 37.5 hour work week. A written test may be administered as a part of the competitive process. An eligibility list may be used to staff similar positions.
**This is the role for you, if you have**:
- Either a university degree plus at least 2 years of work toward relevant purchasing certification, and/or a combination of education and experience;
- 3-5 years of relevant business experience in an environment of similar scope and complexity;
- Experience managing sourcing activities for various goods and services;
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool experience in large enterprise, Oracle preferred;
- Experience collaborating with clients and working in teams;
- Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment; and
- Obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.

- Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing industry (goods and services), regulations, standards, policies, and practices in order to deliver professional sourcing guidance and insight for the business which includes substantial and high-profile sourcing initiatives and services;
- Ability to proactively partner with client to understand: roles, mandates, immediate and long range plans, financial planning processes, sourcing approval and review processes (Risk Management, Legal, etc.) and other management practices in order to deliver sourcing services and implications of outcomes;
