Artistic Technician

**About the Role**
This is a job for someone whose left brain is best friends with their right. Someone equally comfortable operating a laser engraver as they are creating art in Adobe Illustrator. One moment, you’re setting up a product photo shoot - the next, you’re updating content on a WordPress website or adding products to our Shopify storefront.

At Sharkz Coins, we're looking for a true hybrid: part technician, part creative, part problem-solver. You should thrive on variety, be comfortable with technology, and have the graphic design skills to bring creative visions to life - both digitally and physically. You are a self-starter and play well with others.

**What You’ll Do**
- Operate a variety of laser and mechanical engravers for production.
- Assist with the selection, setup, and operation of new equipment (e.g. UV printers, 3D printers, engraving tools).
- Conduct product photography and image editing for marketing and e-commerce.
- Design graphics for the website, social media, marketing campaigns and print.
- Create and update content on our websites (WordPress and Shopify).
- Help prepare newsletters and social media posts under the direction of management.
- Lead the exploration and implementation of AI tools to streamline and enhance business processes.
- Provide basic in-house IT support, under the direction of our IT lead, when needed.
- Support our graphics team with coin design and production graphics.
- Liaise with overseas factories.
- Contribute to the development and prototyping of new products.
- Document technical processes and create internal operation manuals (e.g. laser settings for different materials).

**What You Bring**
- Proven artistic and graphic design skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with 3D modelling and 3D printing.
- Ability to set up a self-hosted WordPress site from scratch.
- Experience in and customizing a Shopify eCommerce site.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technology and equipment - especially by reading manuals and experimenting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort with AI tools (such as language models and generative graphics platforms) and a curiosity to explore new ones.
- A genuine interest in staying current with evolving technology and design tools.

**Bonus Points**
- Experience with creating SOPs or technical documentation.
- Familiarity with laser engraving materials and workflows.
- Experience working in a small business or entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience with Mac computers.

**Starting Rate**: $25.65 per hour with an increase after a successful probationary period.
