Our **Hatchery Driver** is responsible for the safe and timely pick-up of eggs, and delivery of chicks, as well as any other driving as needed. This includes pre-trip inspections of vehicles, and ensuring temperatures are adequate for the load being delivered or picked up. When not driving, the driver will be expected to help out with day-to-day hatch activities and cleaning in the hatchery.

**Responsibilities**:

- Inspect trucks before driving each day
- Start reefer/ventilation system to ensure all systems are working properly before loading product
- Use Big Road logging system for trips over 160 km away from base (island deliveries)
- Monitor temperatures and notify Hatchery Manager if any deviation or issues from set ranges
- Complete and return any paperwork needed for the load - delivery or pickup slips
- General hatchery labor as needed - pulling chicks, transferring eggs, cleaning & disinfecting etc.

**Requirements**:

- A valid Class 3 or Class 5 with and Air Brake Endorsement
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Chain up experience considered an asset
