**SUMMARY**

**This position is not open to apprentices. You must be fully licensed.**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
- Sets up and operates to prescribed tolerances engine lathes, and milling, grinding, drilling, sawing and boring machines.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, operation and product related reference charts and tables and selects mechanical measuring and checking, layout devices.
- Performs measuring, checking and layout operations and selects work piece materials and required cutting tools and abrasives for metal removal operations.
- Performs metal removal operations using hand and power tools and selects work piece clamping and holding devices and product related components.
- Selects work piece materials and required cutting tools and abrasives for metal removal operations.
- Assist in training fellow employees as required.

**OTHER INFORMATION**
- This is a straight afternoon shift position 3:00pm - 11:00pm. Overtime may be required, as per the collective agreement.
- There is a shift premium of.95 per hour for afternoon shift.
- Two weeks vacation after one year of service. One day of vacation will be granted for each month of service completed for the first year.

- Probationary period of 520 working hours and 3 months of service.
- Employment is bound by the United Steel Workers collective agreement.
