Neptune Theatre is looking for reliable and efficient custodial staff to clean and care for our building.
The custodian will report to the Building Manager and be responsible for cleaning and maintaining our theatres, dressing rooms, backstage, lobbies, offices, studios. common spaces, washrooms, hallways and entrances. This is a full-time position that will require a flexible schedule with weekend and evening shifts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dusts horizontal and vertical surfaces
- Sweeps/dry-mops and wet-mops floors and stairways using dust mops, buckets, wringers, wet mops
- Vacuums mats and carpeted areas
- Cleans and disinfects washroom surfaces and replenishes paper, plastic, and soap supplies
- Daily cleaning of washrooms, offices, theatres, dressing rooms, elevators, and lunchrooms
- Empties and cleans garbage cans
- Transfers recyclables/organic waste to designated holding area
- Cleans glass and polishes doors and partitions
- Washes light switches, doors, walls and ceilings (using ladders)
- Arranges furniture (event set-ups) in designated areas
- Clears building entrances (exterior steps and landings) of snow, ice, litter and other debris, as required
- Replaces light bulbs
- Maintains a clean work environment
- Completes minor repairs
- Performs other duties as required

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Ability to complete physical labour.
- Reliability, initiative, attention to detail, customer service oriented, well-organized, and ability to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and visitors
- Previous experience as a building cleaner is an asset
- Available to work evenings and weekends
- General safety and WHMIS training is an asset

Compensation
- Wage will be determined based on experience
- 3 weeks vacation (15 days) annually
