**Position Summary**:
A Seasonal Sales Associate is committed to achieving Northumberland Building Materials Ltd.’s service standards while providing the customers with the best shopping experience possible. This position is primarily for the garden centre. This is a part-time position (approximately 30 hours per week) that requires some weekend availability.

**Location**:This position is at the RONA store in Cobourg, Ontario.

**Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to**:

- Build strong and lasting relationships with our retail, professional, and contractor customers.
- Motivates and influences sales performance with positive feedback and recognition.
- Watering and caring for plants in garden centre
- Assisting customers with plant sales
- Processing customer orders through the cash
- Direct or guide customers to departments to provide products and services, and process transactions.
- Maintain checkout workstations and ensure they are clean, tidy, and uncluttered.
- Produce and balance the cash report at the end of each shift.
- Physically demanding; Will require long hours outside. Use of ladders and lifting techniques when required. Lifting can be a component of this position.

- Exceptional customer service skills
- Positive attitude in a culture of sales and service
- Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills and basic math skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Flexible availability based on store needs (includes evenings and weekends)
- Retail and sales experience in the hardware and contractor industry an asset
- First aid trained an asset
