Reporting to the Housing Advisor, the Live-In Caretaker is responsible for the overall appearance, maintenance, and cleanliness of our community. In this role, you would support and oversee routine inspections, minor repairs, and/or preventive maintenance of units during and after tenancy, all while being responsible for showing and leasing the building to prospective tenants in accordance with established company parameters.

As the Live-In Caretaker, you’ll get to:

- Support our community of tenants with inquiries and concerns relating to their tenancy.
- Maintain the condition of the building, tenant and outdoor spaces while performing daily/weekly minor cleaning ensuring building safety, using judgement, or as directed by Employer. Reword
- Oversee hired trades people while they are on-site conducting minor repairs.
- Support all leasing activity including showing of upcoming vacant units, and cleaning units when vacated by tenants.
- Complete tenant move-in and move-out inspections, ensuring that procedures are adhered to.
- Oversee on-site contractors for the Wheelhouse including snow removal, landscaping, window cleaning, parking lot cleaning, security system, etc.
- Liaise with head office with respect to outstanding issues, procedures, and practices at the building.
- Perform other similar and related duties as may be reasonably required by the Employer from time to time.

What we’re looking for:

- Previous experience in a similar position is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Previous experience in building maintenance (would be an asset).
- Working knowledge of NS Tenancy Act (would be an asset).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with a focus on achieving deadlines.
- Keen focus on internal and external tenant/client satisfaction and process improvement.

Hours per week: Part-time 20 - 25 hrs avg.

Compensation: Monthly Rental Contribution, Internet, Power

Position requires Criminal Records Check Completion.
