The Corix team has an opportunity for a **Utility Operator Level 2 based in Victoria, BC **. Operates water analysis and treatment equipment to ensure water treatment, distribution, and/or wastewater treatment is performed as per regulatory, environmental and safety standards.

**What you'll do**
- Control flow and processing of water/wastewater, residuals, and finished water/effluent, operating valves and gates either manually or by remote contro
- Monitor gauges, meters and control panels and observes variations in operating conditions
- Collect samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses, interpreting test results to determine processing requirements
- Ensure plant records are accurate and up to date
- Start and stop pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sampling of all aspects of the wastewater utility systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Operate, inspect and service equipment in water and wastewater, including hydraulics, pumps, valves etc
- Perform related security, safety and administrative procedures involving chemical hazards, personal protective equipment, general health and safety procedures, and emergency preparedness
- Maintain emergency preparedness binders and field operating manuals
- Undertake routine repairs to water distribution and wastewater treatment and collection systems
- Maintain shift logs, recoding meter and gauge readings
- Perform other related duties as required

**What you bring**

Education / Experience
- Certified Water/Wastewater Operator Level 2, or ability to attain within 1 year of employment; may be in the process of obtaining second-level license.

Please Note:

- Work in plant and field environments; some exposure to wastewater, chemicals, hazardous materials, and noise;
- Heavy lifting/moving, standing, climbing.
- May work at heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather conditions
- Hours of work may include weekends and on-call
