**OVERVIEW**:
The Traditional Healers Program (THP) Coordinator administers the Traditional Healers Program, and reports to the Director of Mental Health and Wellness. The Traditional Healers Program provides access to funding for individuals and families to connect with Healers, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers, to reclaim ceremonial practices and promote healing.

The THP Coordinator must have knowledge of and respect for ceremony and is responsible for preparing requisitions, processing claims, and promoting awareness of the program and healing for southern First Nation citizens.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Coordination**
- Review, approve, and submit requests for Traditional Healing
- Collaborate with the Mobile Crisis Response Team, the Harm-Reduction Program, and other SCO programs including the Pathways to Healing Program
- Engage with 33 SCO member Nations and their health centers to share information about the program
- Create opportunities for community members to participate in ceremonies, healing workshops, training, and presentations
- Communicate with SCO citizens, leadership bodies, and health teams

**Accounts Payable**
- Prepare and submit payment requisitions for the Traditional Healers Program
- Ensure proper supporting documentation for accounts payable transactions

**Expense Claims**
- Ensure expense claims comply with the Finance and Administrative policies, including rates for mileage, meals and accommodations, proper receipts, and delegated signing authorities, etc.

**Reporting and Administrative Support**
- Develop/maintain timely and accurate statements and reports, including monthly and annual statistics
- Implement and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
- Draft, review, and update information about the program, including forms, brochures, posters, and web page content
- Update workplan as required
- Other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Diploma or degree in administration and/or equivalent experience with a working knowledge of finance systems and demonstrated computer literacy
- Several years’ experience providing administrative and/or accounting support while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA)
- Must have knowledge of ceremony and demonstrated understanding of First Nations culture and traditions and respect for community protocols as they pertain to traditional gatherings and events
- Must work co-operatively and effectively with various types of organizations, communities, and stakeholder partners to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
- Knowledge of systemic barriers, community resources, system navigation, and referral options
- Knowledge of the impacts of colonization, Indian Residential and Day Schools, the 60s Scoop, MMIWG2S+, the Child Welfare System, and intergenerational trauma
- Must have an understanding of trauma informed care
- Must be able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively present information to management
- Must be organized and attentive to detail and able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Extensive experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Must hold a valid class 5 MB driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for business travel
