Under the direction of the assigned Supervisor, Roads, the Waste Seasonal Maintenance Worker is responsible for waste collection and maintaining Town own property throughout the Downtown area. Assists with Special Events with set up and take down of equipment supporting Recreation & Culture during special events. Assists with roads operations including cold patching, sign installation, pavement markings, etc.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of High School education along with some knowledge of municipal maintenance related to roads discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in municipal waste collection and general street maintenance.
- Ability to follow directions, take initiative and respond appropriately to various situation as they arise.
- Ability to understand and interpret policy, procedural and instructive material such as safety notices, equipment operation manuals, material safety data sheets, and WHMIS labels, ability to complete logs and incident reports to fulfill health and safety obligations.
- Practical working knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations and trained in WHMIS procedures to deal with equipment and road maintenance.
- Ability to operate Roads related equipment such as pick-up trucks and small hand tools.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with staff, shop owners, residents, contractors and the general public.
- Ability to work in unfavourable conditions such as cold, heat, snow, rain, and to obtain results in a given time.
- Available to work flexible hours, if needed.
- Class “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing.
- Due to the nature of the contacts of this position, a Police Vulnerable Sector Check acceptable to the Town is required.
