**DESCRIPTION**:Rocket Doctor’s Substance Use Services (SUS) Physician Lead will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding and supporting all new physicians within the SUS clinic at Rocket Doctor across all provinces. As well, they will join the MD Advisor team, collaborating to assist all new physicians within Rocket Doctor across all provinces while concurrently helping to grow and optimize Rocket Doctor in all facets within the medical side of the company through strategic planning.
- The primary objective of the physician lead is to help develop Rocket Doctor’s brand in all provinces we are open in or will be opening within Canada
- The particular focus of this role will be on the continued development and optimization of Rocket Doctor’s patient-centred virtual substance use services clinic in Ontario and help to launch it within Rocket Doctor’s other markets (within Canada)
- One of the main responsibilities of the physician lead will be recruitment and onboarding all physicians with the capacity to practice substance use medicine. This will include but is not limited to: family physicians, emergency medicine physicians, psychiatrists and internal medicine physicians practicing within Canada
- Another central responsibility will be to review relevant literature and resources (ie. META:PHI website), as well as connect with clinical leaders within substance use medicine to develop evidenced based, up to date, safe clinical guidelines and protocols for treatment of these patients in a virtual care setting.
- As a physician lead in general, you will also be responsible for helping to train new physicians and familiarize them with the EMR, it’s extensions and ensure they are prepared to see patients on our platform
- The physician lead will also be responsible for helping to develop and continually improve our physician handbook with an emphasis on your own specialty, and advocating for your specialty’s unique needs, workflows, and preferences
- The physician will also need to be actively involved on Slack - both the RD corporate and physician consumer facing sides - in order to help support physicians and RD staff with day to day physician and clinical-related issues
- Physician leads will also help to standardize and educate physicians on the RD platform with regards to physician billing practices and protocols, for both insured and non-insured services - this is especially true for those FR physicians who may be billing the K083 telemedicine codes as well as the unique billing that will occur within the substance use services clinic
- It is expected that they will review physicians hours and help to ensure we have adequate coverage for our clinics on a regular basis
- This position will also provide an opportunity based on performance, to earn pay bonuses and greater responsibilities / promotions as Rocket Doctor grows as a company
- May help with internal development of quality assurance and improvement of physician related practices.
- The physician lead will provide feedback to the leadership team about the protocols, duties and responsibilities of all aspects and employees of Rocket Doctor they collaborate and work with

**DUTIES / REQUIREMENTS**:

- Be organized, positive and uplifting. The physician lead is a representative of Rocket Doctor and is an exemplar of how we expect physicians working on our platform perform and interact with patients and Rocket Doctor staff
- Maintain the standard of professionalism established by your province’s respective college (CPSO / CPSBC / CPSA) as well as inform Rocket Doctor if you have any formal outstanding professionalism complaints
- Troubleshooting and planning around emerging physician roadblocks and challenges
- Proactive management of the physician journey
- Knowledge of EMR, RD’s extensions as well as privacy requirements in the Canada/USA (HIPAA, PHIPA, PIPEDA)
- Business and tech savvy acumen
- Engagement with the physician advisory team as well as product development team for process improvement initiatives
