**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Reporting to the materials manager, the materials planner will review, schedule and maintain efficient inventory levels required to meet Omex Customer Releases and/or upstream production requirements for their functional area(s). The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the Material Planner serves as a knowledgeable point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues and supporting customer needs.
**DUTIES OF THE JOB**:
- Review weekly customer releases and resolve any discrepancies with the necessary stakeholders.
- Utilize Customer portals and systems as required.
- Develop, maintain and issue production schedules and supplier releases.
- Participate in physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels.
- Develop and implement material requirement plans.
- Forecast material needs and adjust plans accordingly.
- Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure material availability.
- Resolve material shortages or delays.
- Analyze material usage and inventory data.
- Prepare reports on inventory status and supplier performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and orders.
- Other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience or certification in material management/logistic, customer service, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
- Experience working with MRP/ ERP systems would be an asset.
- Previous experience in Ford CMMS and GM Supply Power would be considered an asset.

- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Omex Manufacturing ULC Code of Conduct.
- Maintain a tidy and organized area.
