**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:A Housekeeper/Laundry Aide that manages and promotes the well-being of the residents. Performs a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties to ensure that the residence is maintained in a safe, clean and sanitary condition.

**Salary from**: $17.50- 17.85

**Time**: 12:00pm
- 8:00pm

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Keep residences clean and free from unsafe conditions. Report any unsafe conditions to immediate Supervisor;
- Clean, mop, and polish floors; dust furniture and equipment; arrange furniture in an orderly fashion
- Maintain a clean environment, dusting and washing furniture, windows, and equipment as required
- Maintain appropriate level of supplies e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener, etc.
- Operate automatic washing machines, dryers, iron, etc.
- Sort and separate items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements
- Hand iron and folds or hangs garments after laundering
- Transport laundered garments to appropriate floors
- Ensure proper identification of all personal clothing
- Perform simple mending and repairs
- Observe all fire and safety rules and be on alert for the safety of the residents, staff and public;
- Works in a safe manner which abides by Occupational Health and Safety policies;
- Clean dining room, bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges, activity areas, offices, hallways, stairwells and other areas as directed;
**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Considerable standing and walking.
- Frequent squatting, reaching, lifting and moving equipment and supplies.
- Exposure to hazards from use of cleaning utensils and equipment.
- Regular pressure of deadlines to complete tasks.
- Exposure to resident elements through regular resident contact.
- Stress in dealing with resident, family, staff, and customer needs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Housekeeping experience
- Experience in laundry operation desirable but not mandatory
- Must understand the basis of good housekeeping and laundry techniques/practices
- Completion of secondary school
- Must be able to read, write and follow oral instructions in English

Pay: $17.50-$17.85 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required
