**Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook/Dietary Aide to join our team at a Long-Term Care Facility. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals that meet their dietary needs. As a Cook you will prepare nutritious meals as per a menu approved by a Dietitian, food service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. As a Dietary Aide, you will serve meals, make thickened fluids, clean up dining room after meals, and do dishes. We are offering the dual position to give more of an opportunity of work.

**Duties** - Dietary Aide
- Serve meals to residents, while being aware of dietary needs/allergies
- Prepare trays for meal to be served in resident rooms
- Make thickened fluids as needed
- Operate a commercial dishwashing machine to clean sanitize and dry dishes for and during service
- Clean up the dining room after meals, set up for the upcoming meals
- Help maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling and sanitation practices.

**Duties** - Cook
- Prepare and plate meals as set out by a Dietitian approved menu with dietary restrictions and allergies in mind
- Prepare nutritious snacks for in-between meal times
- Supervise the Dietary Aide

**Education**
- Food Safe (for both positions)
- Cook level 1 certificate required

**Experience**
- Previous experience in the food industry or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, meal preparation, and food service is beneficial.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for helping others through quality meal service.

Pay: $24.34-$27.56 per hour

- Day shift
- Evening shift

- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
